The Accomplishments of Chip Jett in the World of Poker

The real name of Chip Jett is Charles Jett. It was just that when he was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 22, 1974, a nurse suggested to his parents that his nickname should be Chip. And so from the time he left the hospital when he was born until present, he has always been called Chip Jett.

Chip Jett is a person who did not imagine that he would end up being a poker professional. His first work was as a lifeguard in Arizona. He probably knew that he would not forever be a lifeguard. However, he did not imagine that he would leave such career so soon. His plan to change careers happened right after he went to Fort McDowell Casino in Arizona with a friend. He was only eighteen years old at that time and was excited to check out the newly opened gambling establishment.

By simply watching poker professionals show their skills at poker tables, Chip Jett could not help but get fascinated and inspired. Soon thereafter, he decided to enroll himself to a school that was exclusively intended for poker dealers. After graduating from such school, he started his career as a poker dealer and as a teacher in the poker school where he graduated from.

While working as a poker dealer, Chip Jett also honed his skills in playing poker. By watching other poker professionals do their thing at poker tables, Chip Jett was also learning several poker strategies and skills that allowed him to augment his ability in playing poker. After a while, Chip Jett soon found himself joining poker events when he was not working. He started to win in several poker games as well until he realized that he could earn more money in playing poker than in working as a poker dealer. That was the time when Chip Jett told himself that he wanted to become a poker professional instead.

Chip Jett has not experienced winning a World Poker Tour title. However, he has experienced finishing second place in a PartyPoker.com Million II Cruise event that was held by the World Poker Tour in March 2003. The first placer in the said event was poker professional Howard Lederer. Chip Jett also experienced reaching the final table when he joined a Legends of the Poker event of the World Poker Tour, wherein the first placer was poker professional Mel Judah.

Chip Jett has also not yet experienced winning a World Series of Poker bracelet. Nevertheless, he reached the final table twice in 2003. In 2005, this poker professional also finished third place in a US$5,000 Seven Card Stud event of the World Series of Poker.

Chip Jett does not only have a successful career in poker, but he also has a successful family life. This poker professional is married to Karina Jett, a fellow poker professional, and they have two children. Chip Jett and his wife write a column regularly for the "Card Player Magazine."
